Emefiele: Common Sense on “Break”

Emefiele: Common Sense on "Break"

Just one positive directive from Godwin Emefiele, this whole cash crisis bedeviling Nigeria would be over. But you know what, that directive may never come as long as the CBN Governor doesn’t see the stupidity in his policy.

Supreme Court has ruled, state governors have protested, the citizens have cried enough and the economy is almost destroyed, yet Emefiele and his promoters think there’re still some wonders in this policy.

More than 3 days after the Supreme Court’s judgment condemning and repudiating the cash swap deadline, not a single word from the President nor the CBN has surfaced. The economy is lying prostrate and everyone is suffering for something that is not making any sense.

Honestly, I wish Nigerians could institute a class action against Godwin Emefiele, the Board of CBN, and any other institution responsible for this policy fiasco for all the losses and damages incurred in the course of this imbroglio by ordinary Nigerians. If such legal action could be taken against them, every other person desirous of holding public office in the future will be a lot more careful.

I pray that the coming administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu will investigate Emefiele and ensure that such a class action settlement is extracted from him. If need be, his entire investments should be seized to compensate every Nigerian that has suffered untold hardship as a result of this senseless cashless nonsense! The suffering is too much!!!
