A team of young Nigerian tech professionals volunteering for ‘I am Part of the Social Solutions Initiative’ (#IamPOTS) has built an alternative INEC IReV Portal for today’s Gubernatorial Elections.
With the tag; Trust INEC But Verify and secure your VOTE, the team leader Amb. Godwin Onyekwere Nwachukwuneke advised patriotic Nigerians to download #FenderApp* from Google Playstore here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iampots.fender as they go out to VOTE today just as he encouraged those who may not be voting to help in promoting the app and share to all your contact and groups.
According to Amb. Nwachukwuneke, the App can be used to crosscheck and verify results uploaded by INEC on the INEC IReV Portal and Gather Forensic Evidence incase of Malpractices.
“It’s called Fender Eyewitness and E-results App. It allows every voter to secure their votes by capturing signed polling unit results and entering the number of valid votes gotten by all political parties.
“The captured results get watermarked automatically with the following forensic data:
- Geolocation Information (Longitude and Latitude) of the exact location the Result Picture was taken using the app.
- Date and Time of Capture
- Polling Unit information
“The app doesn’t allow uploads of already existing images from any other sources. All submission must be captured live from a polling unit through the app.
“After submission it allows voters on the app from that polling unit to *UpVote any results they believe to be correct and DownVote any results that is false while uploading evidence of the correct Results.
“The LIVE Results Viewing portal shows Election Results by states in realtime based on the verifiable results submitted from polling unit and UpVoted by voters from that polling unit as a valid result that they witnessed.
“The app also has the eyewitness feature which allows voters and party agents to post events and happening from their polling unit. You can report late arrival of materials, Election Malpractices like Vote Buying, Rigging and any other observation.
“The Eyewitness Report from this app stands a better chance as evidence in court when subjected to forensic investigation. This app is for Voters, Party Agents, Election Observers and the general public”, he explained.
