The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has condemned the recent attack on NDLEA operatives by alleged notorious drug dealer Sowunmi Ayodeji Kayode, who drove his luxury car to crush an NDLEA officer during a search of his house.

The group in a statement by the National Coordinator; Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko questioned why individuals suspected of being underworld kingpins have upped their sophistication of violent attacks against NDLEA operatives while advocating for stringent penalties for such audacious crimes.

HURIWA called for public support for the NDLEA’s efforts to combat hard drug addiction in Nigeria. The group also encouraged NDLEA operatives to continue their work and assured millions of law-abiding Nigerians would continue to support their efforts.
