In the wake of the Gabon coup, and amidst the wave of coups across Africa, African leaders are taking rapid action to secure their power, reshuffling defense portfolios.

Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has overhauled crucial positions, including defense delegate, air force, navy, and police. Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame swiftly retired 83 senior officers and promoted new appointments.
