President Tinubu Hails $14B Investment Pledges at Nigeria-India Forum

President Bola Tinubu has hailed Indian investors for their substantial commitments, nearing $14 billion, made during the Nigeria-India Presidential Roundtable and Conference in New Delhi. Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria offers unmatched returns on investment, urging Indian investors not to delay.

Among these investments, Indorama Petrochemical Limited has pledged $8 billion to expand its fertilizer production and petrochemical facility in Eleme, Rivers State. Jindal Steel and Power Limited will invest $3 billion in Nigeria, with the Founding President of SkipperSeil Limited committing $1.6 billion to establish 20 power generation plants, generating 2,000MW.

    Additionally, President Tinubu approved a $1 billion partnership with the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria to achieve 40% self-sufficiency in defense equipment production by 2027. Bharti Enterprises will invest an extra $700 million.

    President Tinubu assured investors of a conducive environment and stressed his commitment to Nigeria’s economic prosperity. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, thanked investors and outlined the eight-point strategy to promote growth and development. This roundtable sets a solid foundation for Indian-Nigerian cooperation across multiple sectors.
