In a historic development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have finalized an agreement in Abu Dhabi, leading to the immediate lifting of the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travelers. Additionally, Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will promptly resume flights to and from Nigeria without financial obligations from the Nigerian government.
President Tinubu’s economic diplomacy efforts have borne fruit, with the UAE committing to several billion dollars worth of investments across various sectors, including defense and agriculture, in Nigeria. A new foreign exchange liquidity program, negotiated by President Tinubu, will also be unveiled in the near future.
