President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ms. Claudia Sheinbaum on her historic election as the first female President of Mexico. In a landmark victory, Sheinbaum secured the presidency by a landslide, marking the first time a woman has held the office since Mexico’s independence in 1821.

President Tinubu highlighted that Sheinbaum’s election amplifies women’s voices in governance, breaking political barriers, and sending a powerful global message about the critical role of women in shaping and implementing decisions that impact society.
