The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has strongly criticized the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, for alleged nepotism in the recent appointment of 23 judges to the Federal High Court.
The Civil Rights Advocacy Group in a statement expressed deep concern over the appointment of the CJN’s son, Ariwoola Olukayode Jnr., among these judges, perceiving it as a breach of ethical standards within the judiciary.
The statement signed by the National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko emphasized that such actions undermine meritocracy and impartiality in the justice system, urging the CJN to revoke the appointment and reevaluate the appointment processes.
