The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) to ensure transparency in the distribution of emergency food aid to vulnerable Nigerians.

Expressing concerns over the lack of clarity surrounding the distribution process, HURIWA emphasized the need for transparent mechanisms to ensure that relief food reaches those in need.

To enhance transparency, HURIWA proposed the involvement of credible civil rights groups and respected traditional and religious leaders in monitoring and distributing food aid.
