In a remarkable act of generosity and dedication to children’s education and health, Emmanuel Solate, the CEO of Showlate Entertainment Limited, known for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to empowering communities through education and health initiatives, sponsored a holiday lesson program for Makiv Talentedkids.ug, providing extra academic coaching for the children during their school break. Beyond education, Solate has also addressed a critical health issue by donating a year’s supply of menstrual pads to the girls in the program.
Solate’s contributions come at a crucial time as Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024 is celebrated under the theme “Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.” This global observance, held annually on May 28, aims to break the silence around menstruation, raise awareness about menstrual hygiene management, and advocate for improved menstrual health and hygiene practices.

“Period poverty is a major problem for female kids,” Solate stated. “Many of these young girls have to save their stipends for an entire month just to afford menstrual pads. This not only affects their health and well-being but also their ability to attend school regularly and participate fully in their education.”
Makiv Talentedkids.ug, an organization dedicated to nurturing the talents of young children in Makerere Kivulu, a small slum area in the capital city of Kampala, Uganda, expressed profound gratitude for Solate’s support. The holiday lessons sponsored by Solate provided the children with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their academic skills during the break, ensuring they remained on track with their studies.

In addition to the academic support, Solate’s provision of menstrual pads addressed a critical need for the girls in the program. By ensuring they have access to adequate menstrual hygiene products for a year, Solate has helped to remove a significant barrier to education and participation for these young girls.
