The controversy between Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken center stage, igniting a flurry of discussions online. In a video shared by Otse, Bobrisky was portrayed as an ex-convict who avoided serving his full prison sentence through illicit financial dealings with EFCC officers. The allegations sparked public interest, prompting a swift response from the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, who ordered an immediate investigation into the claims.
Olukoyede’s decisive move reflects the EFCC’s commitment to transparency and accountability. A team of investigators has been assigned to delve into the allegations, and both Bobrisky and Otse have been invited to assist the Commission in its investigation. In a post shared on his Instagram page, he described the audio recording as fake, emphasizing that he served his full prison term and never paid any money to the EFCC. “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison,” he wrote. Bobrisky has urged the public to disregard what he describes as baseless allegations aimed at tarnishing his image.
