Miss Face of Humanity Nigeria (MFOH Nigeria) continues to inspire as a platform for advocacy and role modeling. This was showcased recently when Amb. Lucy Ojite, the third Ambassador of MFOH Nigeria, appeared on Entrepreneur Spotlight during the Weekend Show, hosted by Tender Chiemelu on Africa Independent Television (AIT). During the segment, she shared her inspiring journey, passion for empowering young women, and steadfast commitment to mental health advocacy.
Hailing from Otukpo, Benue State, Lucy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and is a professional makeup artist. Her journey as a beauty queen began with her desire to inspire others and champion causes that resonate deeply with her. Speaking during the interview, she said, “Participating in beauty pageants has always been a dream of mine because they provide a platform to inspire others and promote causes that are close to my heart.”
Lucy’s role as one of Miss Face of Humanity Nigeria ambassadors has provided her with an avenue to amplify her advocacy for mental health awareness and societal well-being. She emphasized the importance of using her platform to drive change, stating, “I believe that as a beauty queen, I have the opportunity to raise awareness and motivate others to take action on critical issues.”
Her commitment to social causes is evident in her community service efforts, including outreach programs in IDP camps in Benue State and participation in the United Nations Nigeria Walk for Human Rights. Lucy highlighted how these experiences have shaped her perspective on giving back, saying, “These experiences taught me the importance of compassion and showed me how even small efforts can make a significant difference.”
Amb. Lucy Ojite also volunteers with the Idoma Nation Education Advocacy Foundation, assisting students and advocating for education as a tool for empowerment. Reflecting her belief in the transformative power of love and kindness, she shared, “People are drawn to genuine kindness and passion, and staying true to myself has allowed me to connect with others on a deeper level.”
In her advice to young women, Lucy urged them to remain focused on their goals despite criticism, saying, “Surround yourself with supportive people, believe in your worth, and never stop striving for improvement.”
Lucy also revealed her plans to launch The Sound Mind and Wellbeing Initiative, aimed at promoting mental health awareness, peacebuilding, and economic sustainability. She added, “I plan to use my platform to ensure my reign has a lasting impact.”
