Newcastle, UK – The President of Africans Living in Newcastle, Amb. Graham Elendu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his long-time friend and colleague, Dr. Emmanuel Ekem John, on his appointment and swearing-in as the Honourable Commissioner for Health in Akwa Ibom State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Amb. Elendu described Dr. John’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication, leadership, and contributions to the medical field and public service. He recalled their time at the University of Port Harcourt, where they both pioneered the Catalyst leadership development initiative, aimed at nurturing young leaders and fostering civic responsibility among students.
“Dr. Emmanuel John’s appointment is a testament to his years of commitment to service, leadership, and excellence. From our university days when we co-founded Catalyst to his outstanding service as a medical doctor, public health advocate, and policy influencer, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for transformative leadership,” Amb. Elendu stated.
He further commended the Akwa Ibom State Government for recognizing Dr. John’s capabilities and expressed confidence in his ability to revamp the state’s healthcare sector.
“I have no doubt that Dr. Emmanuel John will bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening healthcare delivery in Akwa Ibom. His vision, dedication, and innovative approach will undoubtedly lead to significant improvements in the sector,” he added.
