The Nery Developmental Initiative (NDI) has strengthened its collaboration with the FCT Secondary Education Board following a high-level courtesy visit to the Board’s Director/Secretary, Dr. Sani Mohammed Ladan, in Abuja.
Facilitated by the Senior Education Officer, Special Service Division of the Secondary Education Board, Christie Emmanuel Akoji, the meeting aimed to commend the Board’s leadership for its swift and commendable attention to NDI’s school-focused initiatives. NDI acknowledged the Board’s responsiveness to official correspondence, which has significantly facilitated its school projects across the FCT.
During the visit, NDI also unveiled its upcoming Menstrual Health Roundtable for secondary schools, scheduled for May 28, 2025, in commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The initiative seeks to raise awareness, provide essential menstrual health education, and advocate for improved access to sanitary products for schoolgirls.
As part of the initiative, NDI will also be facilitating a hands-on workshop for selected students on how to make reusable sanitary pads. This practical session aims to empower students with sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions while addressing challenges related to affordability and accessibility of sanitary products.
In response, Dr. Sani Mohammed Ladan applauded NDI’s commitment to education, particularly its focus on addressing students’ critical needs. He reaffirmed the Board’s unwavering support for NGOs championing transformative programs for students, emphasizing that the Board remains committed to prioritizing initiatives that enhance students’ well-being.
“The FCT Secondary Education Board will continue to prioritize partnerships that align with our mission of fostering quality education and student welfare. We will ensure that critical correspondence and proposals from reputable organizations like NDI receive due attention,” he assured.
