Former governor of Imo State and leader of Imo State PDP; Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has withdrawn from the state governorship race.
As if listening to my analysis on him a few days ago, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps has just thrown in the towel on his ambition of becoming the next governor of Imo State under the umbrella of the PDP.

While this may be sad news to my Mbaise people, it is however the best option left to him. Having hedged all his bet on Atiku’s botched presidential bid, Ihedioha had seemingly offended the sensibility of his teeming supporters who were unmistakably Obidient in orientation and drive. Supporting Atiku against Peter Obi was a political suicide for Ihedioha.

By withdrawing from the coming governorship election in Imo State, Ihedioha may have simply saved himself from a possible defeat by either the Labour Party or the ruling APC of Hope Uzodinma. Politics is indeed unforgivingly brutal!!
