President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday at the State House, Abuja, shortly after a closed-door meeting between the President and Ibas. Ibas, who arrived at the Presidential Villa around 12:50 pm, was formally inaugurated by the President minutes before 3 pm.
The brief but significant event was witnessed by key government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Principal Private Secretary to the President, Hakeem Muri-Okunola; and Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu appointed Vice Admiral Ibas as Rivers State’s Sole Administrator on Tuesday evening, following his declaration of a state of emergency in the state. The emergency declaration was in response to the escalating political crisis that has gripped Rivers State.
The President’s action is seen as part of measures to restore political stability and governance in the state.
