The Imo State Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition; Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu, in promotion of citizens’ participation in governance which democracy propagates, has briefed the citizens of Imo State on the success of the recently held Imo Youths Empowerment Workshop.
Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu was hosted on a radio programme followed by millions of Imolites and Nigerians. The radio programme tagged “Landmarks” on the radio station of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), was anchored by Mr. Jerry Osuji; a perfect radio broadcaster.
While millions of Imolites and Nigerians across the country were listening to Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu, he spoke about the workshop organized for Imo youths by the Imo State Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition to expose the teeming unemployed youths in the State to the needed entrepreneurship education that will help them become self-reliant economically.
He stated; ” the State Government paid for the training of our unemployed youths to become self-reliant and industrious. This workshop was propelled to create employment opportunities for our unemployed youths in Imo State.”
The empowerment workshop that was flagged-off on the 29th of June, 2020, by the governor, ably represented by the deputy governor; Prof. Placid Njoku, at Ahiajoku Convention Centre, he said it has positioned Imo State to experience economic boom that will make it a hub for the thriving of economic activities and retaining of money in the State.

Hon. Atulegwu expressed sadness over the importation of things that can be produced in the State but due to lack of requisite entrepreneurship education and funds, Imo people are incapacitated to venture into their production.
“The Imo shared prosperity government of Governor Hope Uzodimma wants to change the narratives and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in Imo State”, said Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu.
Still in the briefing, Imolites phoned in to commend the efforts of Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu in creating opportunities for Imo youths. A question was also asked by one of the listeners who wished to know the amount that will be loaned to the participants to startup or expand their various businesses.
Responding to them, Hon. Atulegwu revealed that those who participated in the training and were issued certificate and other relevant documents will receive soft loans ranging from ₦One Million – ₦Ten Million.
He concluded by revealing that the participants drawn from all political wards in the State will head to the NIRSAL Microfinance Bank in Imo State as instructed, to receive the soft loans provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria. He urged Imolites to continue to adhere to the preventive measures championed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC), against the further spread of Covid-19 in the State.
