The CYON Old Friends Association Abuja (COFAA) witnessed a significant transition of power as Sir Odey Peter Odey (KSJI) emerged as the newly elected President. COFAA; a registered body brings together former leaders of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) from various parishes and deaneries within the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja. The association represents explicitly the era spanning from 2005 to 2015, encapsulating the diverse experiences and contributions of these leaders.
The election process; a development that came after Mrs. Ujunwa Nnaa’s remarkable and notable tenure was meticulously conducted under the guidance of the electoral committee, led by Mr. Sabastine Ujah. The committee’s dedication to upholding the principles of transparency, fairness, and inclusivity ensured a smooth and credible election.

Sir Odey Peter Odey (KSJI); a respected member of COFAA has an illustrious track record of service as President of St. Dominic’s Catholic Parish Kwali, and St. Luke’s Catholic Parish, Kubwa at different times during the 2005 to 2015 CYON era. His election as President marks a new chapter for COFAA, as he assumes the responsibility of leading and unifying former CYON leaders within the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, Sir Odey Peter Odey expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve as COFAA’s President. He highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among former leaders to positively impact the Catholic community.

He further acknowledged the significant strides made by his predecessor; Mrs. Ujunwa Nnaa and pledged his commitment to strengthening the bonds forged during their shared tenure and working towards the betterment of COFAA and the society as a whole in addition to promoting unity, inclusivity, and the welfare of all members within COFAA.
The outgoing President, Mrs. Ujunwa Nnaa, extended her heartfelt congratulations to Sir Odey Peter Odey on his election. She emphasized the significance of COFAA in preserving the camaraderie and shared experiences of former CYON leaders. Mrs. Ujunwa Nnaa expressed her confidence in Sir Odey Peter Odey’s ability to lead COFAA with integrity and dedication, envisioning a prosperous future for the association.
