Renowned Nollywood actress Cynthia Okereke has sadly passed away, marking a tragic end to a year filled with challenges.
The news of her untimely death was shared by her colleague in the entertainment industry, Joseph Okechukwu. Just when plans were being made for Cynthia to travel to America, Joseph received the devastating news that she had passed away on Tuesday night.
Joseph, a filmmaker, expressed his deep grief and shock on his Instagram page, reflecting on their two-decade-long friendship. He described Cynthia as an amazing, decent, and lovely soul, and expressed his disbelief that she had left the world so suddenly and unexpectedly.
Cynthia’s death comes exactly one year after she and Clemson Cornel were kidnapped while returning from a movie shoot in Ozalla town, Enugu state. The incident caused great concern among their families and colleagues, but they were eventually released after a few days.
