Markurdi, Benue State The Spring of Hope for the GirlChild Development Initiative (SHoGDI) has made a strong plea for a safe and inclusive Nigeria where the rights and well-being of girls and other disadvantaged populations are safeguarded as Nigeria marks her Independence Day celebration. Mimidoo Uhundu, the organization’s executive director, stressed in a media statement that all residents must work together to realize this objective.

Through its mission of “empowering girls and other marginalized communities towards eradicating all forms of abuse,” SHoGDI, a youth-led, women-focused, non-profit humanitarian organization, pursues its vision of “a world where girls and other marginalized communities are free from all forms of abuse.”

    The organization also aims to achieve the strategic goal of “empowering progressively more girls and women with information and economic means, where necessary and applicable, to be healthy and self-reliant.”

    In her statement, Executive Director Mimidoo Uhundu highlighted the urgent need to prioritize the rights and well-being of girls and marginalized communities. “As Nigeria celebrates another year of independence, we must remember that our nation’s strength lies in the inclusivity and safety we provide for all citizens. Girls and marginalized communities are particularly vulnerable, and it is our collective responsibility to protect their rights and ensure their well-being.

      “SHoGDI’s mission involves advocating for policies, programs, and initiatives that empower girls and marginalized communities. The organization is committed to creating awareness about the importance of gender equality, access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for all.
