In honor of the International Day of the GirlChild 2023, Miss Face of Humanity Nigeria (MFOH Nigeria) has made a steadfast commitment to empower and uplift girls, shedding light on the obstacles they face, and highlighting the importance of gender equality in education and beyond.
Under the UNICEF theme “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” MFOH Nigeria emphasized that girls are not just the future but also the present, as they continue to be leaders, innovators, and change-makers in their own right.
Ambassador Chika Rita Ezenwa, Miss Face of Humanity Nigeria 2023, who has been a prominent advocate for girls’ rights, drew attention to the persistent barriers they encounter, including discrimination, limited access to quality education, early marriages, and restricted opportunities that hinder their progress.
Ezenwa further stressed the collective responsibility to empower girls and provide them with the tools and opportunities they need to reach their full potential, with a particular emphasis on quality education. This, she noted, transforms girls into agents of positive change, both within their communities and beyond.
“On this International Day of the Girl, MFOH Nigeria calls on individuals and communities to support initiatives that promote the well-being and rights of girls. The organization encourages everyone to challenge harmful stereotypes, advocate for equal opportunities, and work toward creating a world where every girl can dream, aspire, and achieve without limitations.
