There are indications that some lawmakers are conspiring to force the Etsako House of Representatives member, Hon. Dekeri Anamero to recant his revelation that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave all National Assembly members trailer loads of rice to give their constituents, which many of them diverted.
The embarrassment from this revelation, especially for some of the lawmakers who had all the while presented themselves as activists and fighters for the people’s best interest has been hard to swallow, hence, their decision to force him to recant.
I will escalate this further, after getting more details. While we wait for more information on this conspiracy, it is important to clarify some facts regarding this rice scandal, as it is obvious that some lawmakers are hell-bent on deceiving the people by planting false stories regarding this scandal in an attempt to exonerate themselves.
1. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided for these trailer loads of rice to ameliorate the sufferings of the masses, especially during the yuletide season and this was fully funded.
2. All the lawmakers who had no plans of diverting the rice were able to distribute the rice palliative before or during the yuletide season. Some of them distributed theirs before the yuletide season, while others distributed theirs during the season. The truth is that any lawmaker who did not distribute this rice and other palliatives to his/her constituents had diverted the palliative.
3. Anyone who is telling you about the federal government routing the procurement of this rice through a certain Agric and Food Security agency under the Ministry of Agriculture is an unconscionable liar as everyone of them knew how to ensure that this palliative got to their people early on.
4. Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo who was sacked from the House of Representatives by the Appeal Court distributed his rice palliatives to his constituents even after the unfortunate court judgement that removed him from the Green Chambers. This shows that this rice was made available a long time ago, but others chose to divert it out of sheer greed and insensitivity.
5. Any lawmaker who shares the rice palliative after now is like a thief who was caught in the act and was forced to vomit his or her loot. If Hon. Dekeri had not exposed this, they would have kept this rice to themselves.

And any lawmaker who falls into this category cannot and should not be trusted, because there are many other projects and welfare packages that the FG gives to Nigerians through these lawmakers which they have either diverted or will divert in the future.
