In commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Peace, Showlate Entertainment CEO, Emmanuel Solate, has highlighted the company’s commitment to using entertainment as a tool for advocating global peace. During a media chat, Solate emphasized the transformative role that films, music, and dance play in addressing social issues and fostering peaceful communities, particularly in Nigeria.

Solate revealed that Showlate Entertainment has been creating contents that raise awareness about social problems. One notable example is the collaboration with the Metropolitan Police in London to produce two films addressing night crime. These projects, done for the LVE Charitable Foundation—founded by former Mayor of Waltham Forest, Karen Bellamy—are part of Showlate’s social responsibility program to promote safety and peace.

Solate also spoke about Showlate Music’s work with Makiv talentedkids.ug, a nonprofit organization in a disadvantaged area of Uganda. Through this partnership, Showlate Entertainment produces content around international observances, such as World Humanitarian Day, to inspire young talents. “Despite the challenging environment they come from, these children are re-writing the narrative of their community through their talent and belief in a better future,” Solate said.

He further noted that Showlate Entertainment remains committed to using art as a vehicle for peace and social justice, ensuring that these young talents become symbols of hope and resilience in a world marked by conflict. “They’re not just dancing to save themselves; they’re saving their community,” he added.

Solate remarked that the entertainment industry has a critical role in spreading these values and creating platforms for dialogue, encouraging people to choose peace over conflict.
