In a powerful demonstration of his commitment to educational advancement, Rt. Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu, the Member representing Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, has pledged to rehabilitate the long-neglected Ahiara Technical College in Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State.
Once a shining example of technical education in the region, the college has suffered years of infrastructural decay and abandonment. Hon. Chinedu, in a statement released on April 7, 2025, described the current state of the institution as “unacceptable” and vowed to restore its lost glory.
“Ahiara Technical College was once a beacon of excellence and pride for Mbaise. It is disheartening to see it in its current state. We are committed to its full rehabilitation,” Hon. Chinedu stated.
In the statement signed by his SA on Media and Publicity, and made available on Facebook, the lawmaker revealed that plans for the school’s revival are already in advanced stages, made possible through his collaboration with Barr. Uche Obilor, a respected leader in Ahiazu Mbaise.
“This is more than a promise—it is a personal commitment to the people of Mbaise. Education must remain the cornerstone of our development and future,” he added.
Hon. Chinedu emphasized that the project goes beyond physical renovation. It is a mission to rekindle hope and reinforce the value of technical education, empowering future generations with practical skills and knowledge.
Calling on unity and collective support, he urged the people of Ahiazu Mbaise and Ezinihitte to join hands with him as the rehabilitation kicks off.
