    The executive Director of Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development CEPASD on Thursday 15th July, 2021 presented Certificate of Honor to the Director FCTA Department of Science and Technology Mr. Olobashola Kolawole O.

    The official presentation was in recognition and appreciation of his immense contributions and support for the Five Weeks Educational STEAM Project on Sexual and Gender-based Violence : Why Peace is a Much Better Option, in both Government Science Secondary School Pyakasa Maitama and Government Science Technical College, Area 3 Garki Abuja.

    Others who received the certificate of honor were the Head of Gender Unit of Department of Science and Technology, Hajiya Fatima Ndakwo, Mrs Agulefu Theodora C.and Mrs Aisha Bello.

    Speaking during the presentation the Executive Director of CEPASD, stated that the Certificate of Honor was to recognize and appreciate the Director for the approval he gave CEPASD to carryout the project in the five schools under the Department of Science and Technology for 2021 academic session also for his support during the closing ceremony of the project. Mr. Igweshi also appreciated the Head of Gender Unit, Hajiya Fatima Ndakwo for her overall support through out the project

    Mr. Olobashola Kolawole appreciated CEPASD for bringing such impactful project to the schools as well as, reaffirmed his commitment to continue partnering with CEPASD to scale up the project and other projects for both CEPASD and the Department. In addition, the Head of Gender Unit reiterated her commitment to the project and appreciated CEPASD for honoring her and her team.

    About 800 students were sensitized while 100 students were selected to the five weeks training. The project was aimed at using Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics (STEAM) to raise SGBV awareness among secondary school students and as well address the rising cases of SGBV in schools and the society at large.
