As Nigerians join the rest of the world to commemorate and thank workers and labourers across the world for all the hard work they do, Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu; Member, Representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise in the House of Representatives has called for reflection and renewal.
Hon. Chinedu who made this call in a Media Statement signed by his Media Aid; Mr. Ukasanya Nnamdi emphasized that the workers are the backbone of the Nigerian economy, just as he noted that without their contributions, the country would not be where it is today.
“Workers Day in Nigeria is a day of celebration, reflection, and renewal. It is a day to honour the hard work and dedication of the Nigerian workforce, who are the backbone of the country’s economy. It is also a day to reflect on the challenges that workers face and to renew their commitment to fighting for their rights”.
While reckoning the important role workers play in the Country’s growth and development, the social reforms advocate reaffirmed his commitment to continue to seek veritable platforms to improve the working conditions of workers in the country.
Furthermore, he pledged to advance legislative frameworks, through his legislative oversight functions to seek new policies and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerian workers, and his constituents in particular.
“As Nigeria continues to grow and develop, it is important to recognize and appreciate the contributions of workers to the country’s success. Happy New Month and a fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration”, Hon. Chinedu concluded.
