In an effort to combat security challenges, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has called for enhanced military cooperation with Mauritania. Matawalle emphasized the importance of bolstering bilateral defense relations during a meeting with Mauritania’s Defence Minister, Hanena Ould Sidi, in Abuja.
According to a press release by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations, the discussion aimed to revitalize joint efforts in military and security cooperation, underscoring Nigeria’s significant role in regional counter-terrorism endeavors. Matawalle reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening ties with Mauritania and fostering collaboration across various sectors.
