When the DSS talks about threats to democracy and threatens to arrest those purportedly planning to subvert our democracy, I see them as a group of people who are not professional enough in their job and are now turning around to blame peace-loving and patriotic Nigerians who are insisting on the right things being done.
The DSS was watching and might have even aided, while INEC in connivance with APC leaders subverted the will of Nigerians for change. If the DSS is really interested in preserving the peace and stability of this nation, they had good opportunities to have intervened and halted the activities of INEC, some rogue security agents, and politicians who colluded to steal the mandate freely given to Peter Obi by Nigerians.
If the DSS is really serious about preserving the peace of this nation and sustaining our democracy, then, the first person they should put behind bars is the INEC Chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu, who went against every rule and law of the election in order to impose on Nigerians, a pre-determined end.
The next thing they should do is to issue an advisory to President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a State of Emergency across the country, and within three months or at most six months, conduct a new presidential election in line with the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
Also, the DSS should arrest all those known to have participated in robbing Nigerians of their mandate by compromising the electoral process. This will have to include the majority of the INEC officials and INEC ad-hoc staff, some security personnel, especially Policemen who were involved in election security but chose to aid politicians in harassing the electorate and subverting the will of the people.
Individuals like Bayo Onanuga, MC Oluomo, and others who made incendiary remarks against some ethnic groups in the country, should have been behind bars by now.

Anything contrary to the above, the DSS would have confirmed to Nigerians that they are complicit in derailing Nigeria’s democracy and the as well leaving loopholes that might accelerate Nigeria’s destabilisation.
