The Centre for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD) has underscored the significance of young individuals in molding the trajectory of the world’s future, with a specific focus on the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.”
In a statement released on Saturday to commemorate the 2023 International Youth Day, Augustine Igweshi, the Executive Director of CEPASD, accentuated the exceptional potential that young people hold in tackling global issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, and social equity.
Igweshi emphasized the critical nature of promoting green skills among youth to cultivate sustainable practices and a sense of environmental responsibility.
“CEPASD places a strong emphasis on the value of education, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences in nurturing these skills. The benefits extend beyond individual growth to encompass positive effects on society, economies, and ecosystems”.
