In the heart of Uganda’s bustling capital, Kampala, lies Makerere Kivulu, a small slum area where the struggles of life weigh heavily on its residents, particularly its children. Here, amidst the hardships and challenges that define their daily existence, a glimmer of hope emerged in April 2022 with the formation of  Makiv Talentedkids.ug.

Founded by Ntwali Emmanuel, Makiv Talentedkids.ug was born out of a desire to combat the pervasive issues of child abuse and the damaging effects of low self-esteem and mental health among Uganda’s youth. Although initially joined by a friend known as Energy, the journey forward saw Ntwali Emmanuel shouldering the responsibility alone, driven by an unwavering commitment to make a tangible difference in the lives of Kampala’s most vulnerable children.

Raised in environments marred by poverty, addiction, and violence, these children grapple with issues that many adults never face in their lifetime.

From inadequate shelter to rampant abuse and the pervasive lure of crime, the obstacles standing in the way of these children’s dreams are staggering. Yet, despite the odds stacked against them, Solate remains steadfast in his belief in their inherent potential and resilience.
