Brazilian football star Neymar has reportedly warned his international teammates at Real Madrid about the challenges of playing alongside Kylian Mbappé. Neymar and Mbappé were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from 2017 to 2023, a period during which they won four Ligue 1 titles. Despite their success, Neymar has described his time playing with Mbappé as “hell.”
Journalist Cyril Hanouna, speaking on Europe 1, revealed that Neymar reached out to Real Madrid’s Brazilian players—Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Eder Militao, and Endrick—warning them about the difficulties of playing with the French forward. “Neymar has sent a paper about Mbappé to the Brazilians, telling them it was catastrophic, that it was hell,” Hanouna stated.
Though Mbappé has recently joined Real Madrid, scoring four goals in six games, Neymar’s comments paint a different picture of what it’s like working with the French star. The Brazilian’s warning is a reflection of the long-standing tension between the two players, which Mbappé once described as “hot and cold,” acknowledging that they had moments of great camaraderie but also periods of distance.
The dynamic between the two players became especially prominent during their time at PSG, alongside Lionel Messi. Despite being part of one of the most formidable trios in world football, the team failed to win the UEFA Champions League. Neymar has since transferred to Saudi Pro League’s Al-Hilal, while Mbappé made the move to Real Madrid this summer.
