The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has requested President Bola Tinubu to fulfill his commitment to engage in dialogue with agitators, including the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in order to restore long-lasting peace in Nigeria, specifically in the South-East geopolitical zone.

In a media statement on Thursday, HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, urged Tinubu not to repeat the actions of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, who disregarded an Appeal Court judgment by refusing to release detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
