Access Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Bolaji Agbede as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer following the tragic passing of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the former CEO, who lost his life in a helicopter crash along with his family and a former chairman of the Nigeria Exchange Group, Abimboloa Ogunbanjo on Friday.
The Board of Directors released a statement on February 12, 2024, confirming the appointment of Ms. Agbede, subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria, following their announcement of February 11, 2024.
Ms. Agbede brings nearly thirty years of experience in banking and business consultancy services, having joined Access Bank in 2003 as an Assistant General Manager. She has held various roles within the bank, including Head of Group Human Resources from 2010 to 2022, and most recently served as the founding Executive Director of Business Support until her recent appointment.

Ms. Agbede has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration from Cranfield University UK. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management UK and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
