Amidst ongoing efforts to uphold good governance in Rivers State, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritize the people’s welfare, despite challenges posed by detractors. Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Governor Fubara emphasized the government’s unwavering dedication to achieving set goals across critical sectors.
Representing the Governor, Deputy Governor Prof Ngozi Odu conveyed the administration’s resolve to remain steadfast in its pursuit of excellence, placing the interests of Rivers State above all else. Governor Fubara urged ANAN to sustain its promotion of financial reporting standards, emphasizing the importance of professionalism in ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
Highlighting ANAN’s role in fostering professional development, Governor Fubara commended the association for its commitment to continuous education and training. He expressed gratitude for ANAN’s decision to hold its Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) program in Port Harcourt, emphasizing the city’s reputation as a safe and conducive environment for business and investment.
In response, Dr. James Ekerare Neminebor, the 13th National President of ANAN, lauded Governor Fubara’s leadership and pledged the association’s solidarity with the government’s efforts. Dr. Neminebor underscored ANAN’s decision to host its professional development program in Port Harcourt as a testament to the city’s significance in the national economy.
The delegation, comprising national and state executive officers of ANAN, convened in Port Harcourt for the three-day MCPD program, signaling the association’s recognition of Rivers State’s conducive business environment.
