In a show of solidarity, the Miss Face of Humanity Nigeria (MFOH Nigeria) team, led by the reigning queen, Amb. Rita Chika Ezenwa, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, at the NLC headquarters in Abuja. The visit aimed to discuss potential collaboration for the upcoming 2024 National Showcase, a prestigious event aimed at empowering young women and promoting humanitarian causes across Nigeria.
During the meeting, Amb. Ezenwa provided an in-depth overview of the 2024 National Showcase, emphasizing its objectives of raising awareness about humanitarian issues and fostering community-driven solutions. She described how the event seeks to empower young women to take leadership roles in advocating for the vulnerable and marginalized in society. “Our National Showcase is not just about beauty; it’s about using our platform to drive meaningful change and bring critical humanitarian issues to the forefront,” she said.
The MFOH Nigeria team also sought support from the NLC, exploring avenues for collaboration, including sponsorship and aligning efforts to amplify the event’s impact. Amb. Ezenwa expressed her hope that the NLC, with its deep roots in advocating for workers’ rights and social justice, would join hands with MFOH Nigeria to champion the cause of humanitarianism on a national scale.
In response, Comrade Joe Ajaero commended the MFOH Nigeria initiative, recognizing the alignment between the NLC’s goals and the humanitarian mission of the pageant. He stated, “The Nigeria Labour Congress has always stood for justice, fairness, and the upliftment of marginalized groups, and we see this initiative as an extension of those values. We are open to supporting this cause, and we’ll explore ways we can collaborate to ensure that this event makes a significant impact.”
Comrade Ajaero assured the MFOH Nigeria team that the NLC would lend its support, strategically, to help drive the success of the 2024 National Showcase. He emphasized the importance of empowering young women, noting that the NLC would work towards fostering a partnership that aligns with their mutual goals of advocacy and social change.
